Another LS Corvette
I fell into a really awesome deal a well running LQ4 out of a 2003 Silverado. This engine came with all accessories and computer, it is a drive by wire. I traded an item that I built for around $500. The individual only needed the transmission and didn't need the motor.
I will be planting this into a 1982 Corvette Base. I can only do one thing at a time on it because I work a gazillion hours per week.
I am planning on keeping the engine as stock as can be, I'm not taking it to the track or planning to race on the street. I would like to know if it is possible to use the 700r4 even though its not an electronic transmission? Do I need to do anything special like flashing the PCM or repining for the non electric trans?
If so what is the most applicable mounts to use? Also do I need the ones that move the engine forward, stock, or backwards?
I know that this is a redundant topic so thanks in advance for the direction.

Yes, you can use the 700R4, but you need cable throttle body and a TV cable adapter. If you've got DBW, you need the ecu tuned for cable and the harness modified, IAC added.
Most tuners an program for a non electronic trans.
Using the 1" setback mounts will put the trans close to the original position and will allow you to keep your driveshaft.
Oh yeah, the LQ4 intake will never fit under the hood, start looking for an LS6 or LS1 intake.

A couple other things to consider. Oil pan (corvette or F body, I'm using the batwing), accessories (Holley brackets work great, f body fits too), exhaust (I'm using 02 Z06 manifolds, they clear everything and flow great).

Either Kwik or holley will fit in a vette and are spaced for vette, f body, or truck. You will need a small PS pulley with those though.
