Quality Wire Loom?
What are you guys using for high end wire loom for the wiring harness? I've got the engine in and about to wire it up. There are a lot of different products out there, but am looking for some first hand experience. I'm trying to stay away from the plastic wire loom that Autozone or Harbor Freight sells. This is for my Datsun 280z, which really doesn't make a difference. Thanks guys.

McMaster-Carr sells a very nice split, braided loom. If you look on their website you should be able to find it. It's the same stuff that Holley uses on their harnesses.

TechFlex Flexo F6.
You can buy it at Amazon, CableOrganizer, WireCare and McMaster Carr, among other places.

We use the braided wrap. We also use hi q shrink tubing on the ends.
The shrink tube has heat activated glue in it, & does a super job of keeping the looming where it should be.
A little forethought when putting the harness together, will allow you to put the shrink on, before the terminals are put on.
When we cut the looming, we use a "mini torch" to melt the loom ends, so they don't unravel. Just a quick pass and it's done. We use a hair dryer to set the shrink tubing. Open flame is prone to melt the loom.

I used the Taylor Flexbraid.
As said above I used a mini-torch to melt the ends after cutting, if you don't it will unravel on you. You could also use a hot-knife to accomplish the same thing.
