66 Corvette swap questions Hi, I hate being the random dipshit that makes new threads asking the same stuff that has already been beaten to death but I'm coming up short with the search. Anyway, the short version is that I was going to put an LS/ 4l80e combo into a 66 Corvette and will only have a short window in which to do it. I also have basically no time to research the million things that might come up, so I was wondering if anyone knew of any people selling kits or whatnot with brackets, crossmember, fuel tank or anything. In the interest of time will likely just be buying new crate motor and trans.

C2 and C3 sit on the same frame. Over at corvetteforum, there's a directory to C3 LS swaps, Not too many 4L80, but lots of 4L60s. There are 4L80s on that forum that have been put in behind BBC, etc so it's doable.

The Transmission tunnel on the C2 is narrower than a C3. C2s have been very tight on clearing TKOs and T56 require modifying the tunnel. C3s will clear a T56 without surgery. So it is doable but more work maybe required.
