No 3rd or O/D in 4L60e need help please I have a 4l60e that worked perfectly in my 2002 vehicle . I swapped the original v6 for a 2001 LS. Now that its all together and running, when I put it into drive it it has first gear then second, when it should go to third it seems to just "freewheel" like it went into neutral. It is all connected with a painless wiring harness. There is 12v on the pink wire of the park neutral position 7 pin switch on the left side of the trans.
I contacted painless and they were nice enough to reprogram my ECM for a second time. But it has not cured the issue.
I have a cen-tech 60693 code scanner but it apparently doesnt read transmissions.

My break switch is connected as in figure 6.2 on page 8.
Any ideas as to what might be wrong?

Sounds like a VSS issue,I'm currently battling with the same symptoms on my Jeep swap,can't get the Jeep VSS to signal the PCM even with a SGI-5.Yours should be straightforward enough check the harness and VSS connections,hopefully Painless has put a 4L60E tune in your PCM.
