Default CPW Harness problem with TCC wire

Hey guys , I bough a CPW Harmess and I'm having a problem with the Purple brake switch wire. I connected the purple brake wire for the tcc . I tested this wire and I have 12 volts when the brakes are NOT PRESSED and 0 volts when the brakes are PRESSED...I'm not sure if the instructions on CPW harness are backwards because it says. ( "Supply 12v to this wire when the brake pedal is PRESSED" ) and I'm getting the opposite when the brake pedal is pressed.... in other words when the brake lights come on I loose power to the purple wire and when the brake lights turn off I gain power to the purple wire which is backwards from the instructions on the CPW harness

I read the instructions on another company's harness (PSI) and on their instructions it's actually backwards from CPW. I also read several post on the TCC wire and it says it needs 12 volts when the brake pedal is not pressed. Can you guys help me out on this please. Thank you very much.

What engine do you have? GenIII needs 12v when brake is NOT depressed, GenIV needs 12v when brake IS depressed.

Man now I'm confused, I've been researching what you told me about Gen III being different then Gen IV and I can't find anything on that . Pretty much what I read it says that you need 12 volts when the brake pedal is NOT PRESSED

I just called CPW Harness and they are telling me that I need 12 volts when the brake pedal is not pressed on my year engine ... Can someone please confirm this?
It's a 2005 5.3 with an 07 express van ECM.

Default TCC wire

Through the years I've always hooked up the power to the converter lockup as on without the brake pedal pushed. When the pedal is pushed, power to the lockup is lost and the converter unlocks.

This was CPW response:
" 2005 Van ECU is Gen 3. All Gen 3 ECU’s (Blue/Red & Blue/Green) need 12V when the pedal is not pressed, and open circuit when the pedal is pressed.
Gen IV computers with TCM’s need Ground when the pedal is not pressed, and 12V when it is."

This is right. Yours is a GenIII, so you need power to it with the pedal not depressed.

Is the ecm from a Gen IV? If so that is your issue.

the ECM is from a 2007 express van. Which I believe it's a Gen III ECM... the confusion was that the instructions where for a Gen IV ...

I thought things like this were designed around safety, e.g. if the signal wire is cut in an accident, the TCC unlocks. Same concept with the fuel pump signal. I am surprised they changed the strategy on gen IV engines.
