4.3 swap Well....yes and no.
In 2002 the intake changed again. They got rid of the intake spider that came out on the 1998. I know that the 02-03 is the same engine (have an 03 S10).
Now having said this, it should just be a matter of swapping the intake over to the '98 engine. You will need to get a set of Fel-Pro or Victor intake gaskets to do the swap. Be sure to verify the port placement and part number (heads) to be combatable. Also remember that there are 2 timing marks on the balancer, has to be lined up or you'll chase it for a long time as a no start.
While your there, do the oil pump and timing set. Good insurance on making a used engine live. Oil pan gasket is reuseable, valve cover gaskets should be replaced prior to dropping in the engine. (Chased an oil leak for 6 months, found it when I pulled the engine). Be sure to run the 05 oil pand as it will be different than the 4wd Blazer
