Default Another E38 Brake Input Question...

I've searched for days on this site as well as others, and still do not have my brake signal reporting properly. So, I thought I'd put it out there and see if anyone can help. I currently have mine wired so it sees 12v with the brakes applied and runs to a 1k ohm resisted ground when they are off. I still cannot get the system to initiate a trans fast learn though as it's not recognizing when i depress the brakes.

Interesting note, when I have the KOEO, HP tuners will report the brakes going on and off with the pedal. However, when the engine is running it no longer will report the status change. Any ideas on how I can trouble shoot why?

I know all these vehicles seem to be slightly different and the ECM seems to be also pulling the signal to ground along with the BCM? Unlike the Express vans that I saw where the ECU had a pull up in it?

Post #9 here gave me a lot of info but I'm still striking out..

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Not sure what car you're putting this in but in my 63 c10 I hooked my trans wire directly to the other side of my brake switch..
I'm running a genIV 5.3 6L80E...

All you need is to hook 12 volts applied to the correct pin on the E38 ECU. The second brake signal does not matter. It is the Brake Pedal position Sensor that reports to the BCM and ECM. It only reports with engine running and it is a BCM code. So it only really matters to the BCM. The BCM takes the pedal postion and converts it to 12 volts for brakes applied to the ECU. And yes you are screwed to do a fast learn to the trans without a BCM.

I am running into the exact same issue. Reports just fine when the key is on, but the engine isn't running. As soon as the engine starts, I can't get it to report correctly. What did you do to remedy this? Thanks!
