98 LS1 computer and harness??
98 LS1 computer and harness?? Got a 98 6 speed Z28 convertible donor car and the guy that flashed my computer for my last swap told me I should upgrade to a newer computer and sell the 98 computer. He said the '98 computer should bring a bit of cash.....it works fine, any idea what it's worth??
Can someone tell me why the newer computers are better??
I did my own harness work on the last swap, any reason I can't use the '98 harness with a newer computer??

There is no reason that you cannot use a 98 computer and wiring harness, the only people that are looking for just 98 computers are people that are worried about re-wiring a 98 harness to a 99 harness. Most people in the swap community will just re-wire if their computer goes bad since you can get the 99 computers for a lot less like $100 were a 98 goes for about $300 (last time I checked). Will it sell for more yes but you might hold it for months trying to sell since so few people are in the market for one. The new computers are better because they have more processing power and were used in more vehicles so more are around in general the computer for 98 was used in 97 vette and 98 vette/f-body.
just my $0.02. the other reason some ppl like myself moved away from the 98 pcm is because, pending the (earlier) HP tuner version(s), can easily brick the 98 pcm during a partial write. I went through 2 98 pcms before I realize it was caused by the software and fragile OS 98 pcm.
