Fuel pressure problem HELP! 72 c-10 with LQ9 4L80e LS 6 intake Aeromotive fuel rails. We can't get this thing to be happy with an abundance of fuel to seem to be the issue. We initially ran the corvette style filter regulator setup but we have the huge GPA-6 (400 LPH) fuel pump from tanks inc. it was flooding really bad real rough start and eye burning exhaust immediately. We called tanks inc as we scratched our heads, they said the that filter regulator is only good up to 255LPH. They did suggest HOLLYs filter regulator advertised as 175gallons per hour(662 LPH) but after a couple hundred bucks, I seen a forum that said the filters rated at that but the regulator is 255 and less. This truck is going to the interior shop next week and it still isn't running worth a darn. This is the first LS we've done so be gentle! We're finding out just how different they are than an older sbc. We're making 450-475 hp.... The next couple hundred buck I was thinking was going to the GPA 4(255lph) pump and back to the corvette style filter regulator. This is a show truck more than anything but we will burn the tires here and there. Any thoughts and can anyone confirms what I've thought so far? Thanks you in advance.
If you don't need the 400LPH pump, then just swap to a smaller pump. I just installed a DW200 in place of my Walbro 255 because the Walbro was just too loud. The DW200 is whisper quiet and will be plenty for your engine. It will also work with your Corvette regulator/filter (that's what I use).
