Default LSx in an Aircraft Application

This caught my eye when I was at Oshkosh a few months back so I made a vid of it. I'm sure someone on here has contemplated doing this

There have been a couple of threads on this throughout the years. There is a company that certifies LS7 motors for aircraft use.

Here's one in a helicopter

Semantics but the engines are not certified. They are for use only in experimental aircraft.

Quite true! No certified aircraft can use an automotive engine, as none are certified for aircraft use, per the FAA.

that lp1 was designed by david algie. he was a crew chief for andredi green I think. woodward helped develop it then tried to sue him to steal it for himself. he figured out how good this guy really is with the technology he brought to this plane. I've been following him for some time because this plane is flat out awesome and is capable of changing the kit plane seen for the better. he just resently defended himself and won his case so I'm hoping it's back up and being finished. he hasn't flown it yet but he is close to it. he did do some high speed taxi tests.

This guy started making LS1 kits about 10-12 years ago. It does work well.

I like how they've, seemingly, simply turned the intake manifold around.

I would say not only "seemingly", they DID turn the intake around. It's actually pretty easy...

Terrible. I always wondered what happened with that build. I was very impressed at the time ( that was back a ways too ) and the guy had to waste all this time in court just to enjoy his OWN dream? Crazy world man. Crazy

Glad to hear its back on track through. I look forward to seeing it fly
