VSS questions Need some help. I’m wiring up my LY2 that’s hooked to a T-5 in an ‘89 Mustang. Trying to figure out what to do with the speed sensor input. I can use the existing sensor from the Mustang cruise control, but not sure how exactly how to wire it. Can it be programmed out without having coast down/idle issues?
Which T5 are you using? I think most fords used 3 wire square wave sensor, those wont work with the ecu. GM used a 2 wire sine wave sensor that can be wired directly to the ecu.
It should work to provide a speed signal for the ecu to use to help with coast down/idle catch issues. Tune can be altered to adjust that signal so the ecu/bcm outputs an accurate speedo signal - if you need it. Guessing you're using a cable for that though....
