I have a 4L80E/LQ4 in my Chevelle. I ordered the transmission with the short shift shaft. I use my shifter to trigger the reverse lights. I could wire the shifter for a P/N safety switch. How do I tell the PCM that the car has been shifted? I see in EFI Live a P/N and In Gear. The tables are different. I would like the computer to enter these In Gear tables. The PCM is a blue/red 2001 computer. Also does anyone know what pin triggers the computer to put the transmission in performance mode?

Is the 4L80e automatic or did you convert it to manual valve body?

If its automatic and controlled by the PCM, then the trans doesn't tell the PCM it has shifted, the PCM controls the shift solenoids in the trans.

And performance mode isn't what it sounds like it is. Its what you get when you hit the Tow button in a truck. Just a different set of shift patterns.
