Extra wires question On my 87 c10 COMING OUT OF FIREWALL. My existing coil wire, do I just cut it off at firewall plug ?
AND 2 alternator wires ( the plug and one that goes on stud of alt. ) do I cut those off as well at firewall.
My new harness already plugs into alt. And has a wire that bolts to stud on alt.

I would just tape up the old ign wire and put it aside,it may be useful for something under the hood that needs +12V later on.Unless your new harness needs to be ran to the old idiot light,you can lose those wires as well.

You need to connect the big alternator wire or your battery won't charge. The coil wire can be used for your constant power while cranking. Most of the other powers turn off power while cranking.
How large is the alternator wire? Some trucks ran a cable from battery to alternator and then from alternator into the cab for main fuse box power. Does your main fuse box have power now without the wire?
