Default Ly5 5.3 carburated

So I have traded some bmw rims to my cousin for a 1974 nova along with a 5.3 ly5 motor and I wanted to drop that motor in the nova and since there is no wiring and I’m more comfortable with carburetors and ignition coils ect. I need advice on how to find what intake manifold would work on the ly5 and other things to complete my project before I take off to the military

Any LS1/LS2/LS6 intake manifold will fit.
You'll need an MSD 6012 box for the 58x crank wheel.

A microsquirt plug and play kit that is a stand-alone with a complete harness ready to go is only $800 or so (cheaper depending on where you get it). About the same price as a new intake/msd and an old carb, and it will work with the factory intake, injectors, etc.

Using the 6L80e would require you to use the original wiring harness/pcm.
If you want to go carb, you can go with any old GM trans. Th350, TH400, powerglide, 700r4, or a manual trans.

The 6010 won't work, you'll need a 6012.

With the right parts, you can use pretty much any GM manual trans, from the T10, Muncie, T56, TR6060, etc.
