I am thinking about running a Champ fabricated road race oil pan instead of the typical C6 vette pan. I do have one question though. On the C6 pan, it seems as if it also acts like the dust cover for the transmission. It also has locations for the bottom bellhousing bolts to thread into.
With fabricated pans, it does not seem like you have these options. Would a dust cover need to be fabricated? Most pans seem to have a 1" inset from the rear of the block making me think that if I hit water, the clutch might not like that.
