OBS DTRL swap

OBS DTRL swap I hope this is the right forum for this question.
I have a 1996 OBS Tahoe with an '06 5.3L and a 411 ECM.
I think '96 was the 1st year (or nearly) for DTRL.
The headlight low beams are on all day. Later, GM moved the DTRL's to the parking lights. I'd kind of like to swap mine. Since I'm about to have my 5.3L swap harness gone through again, I figure that would be a good time to do that.
I also am in the process of replacing yellowed lamp plastic and ordered a swoopy set of headlamps with halo and will have that wiring integrated at the same time.
Does anybody have any suggestions or ideas about this? Near as I can tell, there's a relay that controls the DTRL's? Is it just a matter of moving the parking lights to the relay? I do know the parking brake will turn off the DTRL's, but I can't see where there would be any problem.
I suppose that the halos as the DTRL's would be stupid?
Should I add the (GM Only) feature where one of the parking lights is out, too?
