Default Cam sensor issues

How's it going? I'm new on here and hoping to learn
right now I'm swapping in a 98 ls1 with 4l60 into an 01TJ to that was 5 speed and straight 6.

Im hoping y’all may already know the fix for this. I'm using a 99 harness that I had cut down with 99 pcm on the 98 engine. I'm getting a a cam sensor code and hard starts with backfiring in the exhaust during cranking plus no tach. Any ideas? Is there a difference in the sensor? Thanks in advance for any help!
