66 chevelle Hello all starting bck on abuddys project. 6.0 in a 66 chevelle, just curious if anybody has found headers that fit other than the Holley ones they are way out of the budget for this project. Haven't set the motor in yet so nut sure if can get away with stock manifolds any wisdom from someone that has completed one.
I second the speed engineering headers if you are on a tight budget. We just put the large long tubes on a 66 Chevelle. We had to dent them in a few places to fit but they look nice and work well. Here is their website https://www.speed-engineering.com/

Hi Pan58Head, I'm having an lsa swapped in my 67 Chevelle and we kept the cast manifolds and heat shields. I guess i just got tired of all the header headaches over the years and am convinced it is the way to go. The shop had to trim 1/4" off each outer flange and I can assure you it will not be a problem as there's still more material left than any header could afford. Also, I like the idea of lower under hood temps, noise, and issues down the road. Some may conjur up HP loss comments by my decision but these days I'm more about longevity and comfort.

66-67 Chevelle using cast lsa exhaust manifolds Here's a couple pics detailing the manifold. The chassis on your 66 is identical so ithe stock manifold will fit.
