Need advice and help. Hello,
I have recently purchased a 1993 chevy k1500 4wd regular cab long box. the truck has a 305 sbc and id like to put a 5.3 motor in it for a daily driver. I have done a little research and come up with little helpful info. Id like to know if there is any kits out there for doing what i want, and if so where can i find them. I am a decent personal mechanic but i just want to order the RIGHT parts and not have to chase to many odds and ends. And what is the best year and motor to start with. id like to spend 1500-2000 with out the motor and is it possible.

What sort of "kit" are you looking for? I did the swap in my 1991 C1500, you can check my build thread and let me know if you have specific questions. I went with dirty dingo motor mounts and just modified/moved the trans cross member. Lots of other little odds and ends parts depending on what is needed on the truck, IE fuel system, electrical, etc...
