Shifter / Trans noise

Shifter / Trans noise I'm finishing up my BMW e39 / 4.8L & T56 swap.
I don't know if the transmission noise I have is normal or not, but the transmission is pretty loud. In a stock camaro / corvette you can't really hear the transmission at all.
In the BMW, other than the leather shift boot in the console, there isn't anything to cut back on the noise. And for some reason they don't make a BMW T56 noise isolation boot
I would assume that in most any swap project, this is a common thing that you have to work through. So what did you use to cut down on transmission / road noise coming through the shifter.
My idea was to use some rubber innertubes to help out. Post pics if you have them.

They are a fairy noisy transmission. You can dynomat your floors to help some. What shifter are you using? A lot of the noise actually comes right up through the shifter on most aftermarket units because they don't have the dampening like the factory ones do.

1964SS is right, my shifter is aftermarket and it makes lots of noise. I bought the T56 used and it came with this shifter, I think it's B&M or knockoff B&M. Every short shifter I've ever installed on a car has always made them loud. Lots of syncro noise, especially at low RPM.
I used an F-body noise isolation boot, but they've been discontinued and the second-hand market has gotten crazy. I also added insulation under my center console, around the shifter, to further reduce noise and heat.
