Default Need help with body wiring

On my 67 Chevelle... I am trying to figure out which wire from the body harness in the engine compartment provides power to the headlight switch etc.. anyone have any good online sources for this kind of question? I know it’s a vague one at that. YouTube was useless for it.

Default headlights

Really vague memory but I think you have one of those firewall fuse boxes and the headlight power comes off it SOMEWHERE in the back and is not fused and goes to the light switch. The headlight switch has several different power supplies (tail lights) which is fused. In order to get power to the switch for the headlights you must find a battery source or make one.

As said above the headlight power comes from the fuse block which gets main power from the horn relay connection. Here's a 66 diagram that should be damn near identical to the 67. http://macc.chevelles.net/images/66w...gram_color.jpg

thank you for the diagram! I will check it out after work.. I think the previous owner literally ripped then engine out along with the battery because a lot of the wiring that would go to the engine is cut. There are no battery terminals either so I can’t reference that for supplying 12v to the factory body harness. I’ll let you know how it goes!

Default Wiring

Those factory fuse blocks were not the best idea GM had. Your wiring is 50 years old, maybe time to do a complete rewire with new stuff. Not cheap but unreliable electrics are a real pain.
