E38 pcm with 4l80e info needed Hi there everyone. Long time observer to the bottomless vat of knowledge located on this forum.
Im getting my ls swap 70 gto autocross project underway. (build thread coming) Im about to buy a l94 6.2 outve a 2008 escalade with 80k with everything included for $1500! Great deal in my book. He doesnt have the transmission with it. I want to put a 4l80e behind this thing. Will the E38 control this transmission? I know ill need a tcm for the 4l80e but whats the easiest way to do this? Any year tcm from a certain vehicle to get the tcm and required harness from? Thanks in advance guys!

The 2008 Chevy Express Van LY6 6.0 used the E38 ecm and 4l80e so it should work. I'm sure there are other years that were the same.
Have you thought about going with the Holley system or is this a tight budget build? The reason I ask, By the time you buy everything you need to run the engine and trans then buying gauges plus add the cost of tuning software or paying to get it tuned... Your getting up there price wise anyway and the Holley does a lot more.

Ok cool. So the tcm from the van would work with my e38? Is there any problem seeing as mine is a 6.2 compared to the 6.0 the tcm was mated with?
This build I'm doing isn't exactly a budget build but using most of the oem stuff has worked so well on my past swaps, i feel it's sufficient.
I'm gonna use a psi wiring harness and they ask if I'm using the truck or the corvette pedal and tac module. Im guessing they mean a c5 (97-04) pedal? Does the corvette provide a better firewall mounted pedal as opposed to the truck?

It doesn't matter if it's a 6.0 or a 6.2, The trans doesn't care what it's hooked to as long as it gets the signal it needs and the PSI harness should take care if that. I have no idea what pedal is best, You're just going to have to look at pictures and see if it looks like it will work for you. I would look at other people builds and see what they did, I know for my truck I used one from a Vette and made a plate to mount it to.
