Questions about removing engine & trans...
I have an LS7 in a 69 Camaro and I'm going to remove it and the trans at the same time.
I assume I should use dedicated bolts coated with anti-seize compound and torque those bolts to 18 lb ft. Correct? (Pace Performance lists the torque spec for LS7 valley cover bolts at 18 lb ft)
What grade bolt should the above bolts be?
Heads and intake (obviously) are off. Radiator has been removed. There's a ton of room in the engine bay. Everything has been disconnected from the engine and trans. Drive shaft is out. Trans fluid has been drained. Shifter handle (but not the actual shifter) has been removed.
I assume the proper removal procedure sequence is: (1) attach the load leveler/cherry picker, (2) tighten up the chain slack, (3) remove the bolts connecting the trans to the transmission crossmember, (4) remove engine mount bolts, (5) remove the engine and trans. Do I have that correct?
Thanks!! Any input appreciated.
