Default 5.3 with 6.0 heads ported backfire and initial stumble

Hows it going guys I’m new to the Ls world but I jus recently put a stock 5.3 with 6.0 heads ported in my 79 Malibu and I am gettin backfire and initial stumble when you give it full throttle, other than that it runs decent.

Eveythings stock besides edelbrock intake and msd 60143 box, I put it on computer (msd view) and changed map/timing a tad, by going off a YouTube video and it seemed to help a bit but other than that I’m lost.... should I put 5.3 heads back on or go with bigger cam..?

Thanks for any help/suggestions

Do you mean the fuel/air mix screws on the front of carb, changing jets, or puttin a 50 cc accelerator pump in it ( I heard of someone doing so on another thread) other than that its a brand new edelbrock carb 1806 650 cfm, I haven’t done nothin to it besides bolt it on...

thanks for the reply.

If there aren't any vacuum leaks, I would adjust the accelerator pump rod. You should have the paperwork describing the how to in the box the new carb came with.
