Is an AC Evaporator Temperature Sensor Required????? Hey guys,,, cobbling together an AC system for my Scion FRS/V6 Camaro LFX swap. It'll use the FRS evaporator and expansion valve, 2015 GM Compressor from the LFX, aftermarket universal condenser, dryer and Binary switch. Using a Current Performance fuse/relay box and it'll turns the fan on when Compressor request comes on. I'll wire a switch on the dash to turn the compressor on. Blower motor runs on a separate switch.
OK for the question. I would suspect the only cycling of the compressor will be due to the Binary switch. Do I need to have some type of evaporator temperature sensor to cycle the compressor keep the evaporator from freezing up?? If so,, could you point me towards a likely part as I don't really see any universal ones??? As a sidebar,,, I live in South Florida so it's warm here 10 months a year.
