BCM - same model or same VIN?
BCM - same model or same VIN? Looking to get A/C working on a car powered by an e38 PCM. Ive read that I "need the same BCM from the donor car". Does that mean that I need the EXACT bcm from the donor car, VIN and all, or that I just need the BCM from the same type of car? The donor car to my ls7 is long gone. I was thinking of finding a C6 BCM on ebay and using that. Any idea if that will work or am I SOL on this?
Not sure but Ive swapped BCMs around and havent run into mismatch issues

when I had an issue with the BCM not matching the radio and XM module I sent the BCM off and had the VIN changed in it.
IIRC it was $50 plus shipping
