Old/Junk gasoline??
With my swap getting closer to completion, I'm faced with a question - how to responsibly dispose of several gallons of "stale/expired" gasoline that's been sitting for way too long (meaning over a year)?? I know that people bring old cars back to life all the time, & I'm pretty confident that not every one of those cars magically had an empty tank... The easy thing to do would be to just dump it somewhere, but even though I'm pretty much the Anti-"bunny-hugger" type, I just can't get behind that idea (even though it might work wonders on that stubborn patch of weeds in the backyard...
Hmmm...
).What do you guys do when it's more than just a small amount?? Thanks in advance.
Seriously though, I just have a "normal-sized" front & back yard, it would take a while to burn through the 10 or 12 gallons that I have with a lawnmower...

Small amounts I just burn.
Our county recycle center does not take things like gasoline, brake fluid, carb cleaner etc. Pretty much just oil, antifreeze and latex paint. That means brake and power steering fluid gets sealed in old old containers and stuffed in the bottom of a garbage bag. I use a brand of carb cleaner to clean bike chains. When that gets too gunky to continue using I burn it off in an old metal drum.
Be careful with recycle centers. When I lived in LA many years ago I called the county to figure out how to recycle my old oil. They told me it had to go to one of several recycle/haz mat centers. They told me they would test it and if there was ANY antifreeze in the motor oil it couldn't be recycled. In that case they would put my name on it, store it away and I would somehow be responsible for it forever.
At that point I just continued to seal the old oil into empty jugs and toss it in the dumpster.
