4l60 I have a 1998 s-10 with a 2.2/4l60..what is the difference between that 4l60 and one in a fullsize pickup behind a 5.3.I am looking to put a 5.3 in the s-10 and I am wondering about the transmission linkages and hook ups and also the computer settings and wiring
The major differences are the bell housing,converter and input shaft,the rest is almost the same. Head on over to the automatic trans section here, the experts there will go into greater detail if you need it.

Like said, bell housing is different, input shaft is different.
- pump stator is different
- separator plate feed holes are different specs ( easy fix )
- the v6 2-4 servo is different but will work.
- internals are the same as far as clutch setup, planetary gears ect.
- if you were to swap that stuff over it would be plug and play from there on out.
