Default Oil Dip Stick = FLEXIBLE and Turbo

Got a great deal on a Flexible oil dip stick, unfortunately it is roughly a 7/16" OD tube and my block (2005 4.8 from a Express 2500 van) requires roughly a 3/8" diameter tube.

I have flipped the truck manifold and was planning to bolt the support bracket for the handle to a tab on the exhaust manifold.

Anybody got a link to a oil dip stick (flexible) that will work for my block?

How about brazing/welding a short piece of 3/8" tubing to the 7/8" ? That is IF the dipstick will still fit thru the 3/8"...….

I think the stick will fit, I have the stock dip stick and can cut the end off. Wondering if an epoxy would work here too.

Is the dip stick I have for an oil pan access hole?

Thanks for the idea G!

This is what I landed with.

I cut about 1" past the o-ring and collar off the orig tube

I was able to remove the tube from the coupling on the new stick
Then I drilled out the coupling so that I could press the old tube into the coupling

Before I pressed the old tube in a wiped it down with a little JB Weld

** No way I needed JB here as the press fit was tight but I had it laying around and never use it so why not.

Quick test fit has the stick hitting the oil so it is long enough. Just need to weld a mounting tab to the exhaust mani and I'll have myself a locking flexible dip stick that is totally out of the way.
