Default harness questions: kill switch, pins, etc

  1. I'm about to modify my harness (2004 Avalanche). Is there a wire that I could use in the PCM that would allow me to add a hidden kill switch? I feel like I read about this a while back but now I can't find anything about it. One thought I had was the pin 18, which is the clutch start signal (i'm using an automatic trans). Could this be wired to a switch and used as a kill switch?
  2. I noticed pin 59 says it is a serial data wire and the LT1swap diagram shows to remove this. Pin 58 is another serial 2 data wire. Is there any reason at all to also keep pin 59.
  3. I won't be towing with this car, but is there any other reason to keep a tow/haul switch or can this be converted to be used for anything else useful?
  4. Pin 72 wasn't mentioned on the youtube video (unless I missed it). It says it's a transmission range switch. What is this? Is this only for 4x4?
  5. pin 49 says it is a vehicle speed sensor. Is this for ABS? I will not be using ABS, so if so I will remove this pin.
Thanks,
Brandon

Thanks.

Get rid of all the wires and connnectors your not gonna need. Brandon on Lt1swap has it all color coded and everything. When you say kill switch do you mean something like a push button start/stop?

dont forget to go to his facebook page too. Theres more detaied pics and stuff.

why not just have a hidden switch that applies the key on 12v to the ecu?

im guessing you are wanting to use this as a anti theft device?

Or switch the turn on wire that you will wire to the relay for the fuel pump. If the switch isn't in the on position, the fuel pump wont run.

Yes, this would be for theft prevention device. I thought there might be a pin which would operate from a ground that would allow me to just put a toggle switch on it and run it to a ground rather than having an inline switch which would have to be routed inside the car, under the dash and then back out.
