Hi guys, i need some help pls! I have a 99 silverado that was originally a DBC 4.8/4l60e and I installed a 04 DBW 6.0/4l80e out of a 3500 Savannah. It ran and drove good minus shift speed issues but no probs with idle or revs.
So "see what had happened was" I wanted to go DBC and use the original pedal and cruise box so i did. After the change it wouldn't idle correct and idles high and gets higher as it warms up, it sputters and hesitates when accelerated and dies out eventually.
I tried 2 different dbc pcm's. First was a dbw/dbc out of the 01 Suburban, Second was from the donor Savannah that was DBC with no emmisions. I messed with the tune, segment swapped, loaded new tune, swapped tps pin outs, changed idle air and tps but still same. So i got frustrated and said ill change it back to DBW it worked good before. BUT no it didn't happen that way. I got my good idle back and clean revs in park BUT when put in gear the pedal is dead no acceleration at all. So i check all the connections and checked the wires for damage and nothing, then i hook up HP Tuners and I see tps is reading 0 and i have a P0122 dts code.

At that point I left it alone for awhile and the other day i went back to DBC and payed more attention to the pin outs when installing the tps and idle air but still the same as before. Im thinking I have some wires mixed up but idk what or where. I know if i change the harness my probs might be corrected but id rather fix mine and not have to pull it out and put it back in. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you guys

DBW Setup 01 2500 Suburban, Throttle body,PCM, Maf and TAC as well as Engine harness. I personally removed them all off the Suburban so no mix matching Parts.

DBC Setup is 04 van PCM, TPS and IAC. The metal cruise box is original to my truck so its a 99 Silverado and maf is the same DBW maf.

 

Your post is kind of confusing, but it sounds like you have a mismatch of parts. You cant mix and match tunes and DBW parts from a 2004 and a 2001. So you are back to DBC now? have you checked for vacuum leaks?

I've checked around and listened for vacume leaks and I haven't found anything, but I havnt used a can of starter fluid.

 

I cant tell what year the tune you linked is, but if you're running the '04 throttle body and TAC, then you need an '04 tune. You said you tried an '01 DBW set up, you aren't still using the all plastic TAC are you?

 

Im running a 99 silverado metal DBC cruise box original to the truck, 04 van TPS, IAC, PCM and the Maf is the 01 Suburban on the DBC set up. I didn't know the tune had to be the same year as the pcm and sensors. I will load the factory tune back on the pcm and run a log and check for dts codes.

Does the DBC cruise box need to be the same year also like a TAC box on a DBW setup?

DBW Setup is all 01 2500 suburban as well as my engine harness. I added TPS and IAC plugs I took off the 04 van harness when I went DBC.
