Why no audio swaps

Default Why no audio swaps
So why haven't there been more audi swaps? Seems like a really good platform to do it on and there is a bell housing adapter out there for audio transaxle.

Probably because they have weak *** drivetrain. They’re FWD cars with AWD as an afterthought. And until the A5 came out - they were all ugly sedans.

OK, OK, I'm just yanking your chain a little bit... I know that Audi has made some cars with pretty decent performance, & I'm not sure why there haven't been more swaps. Sounds like an opportunity for you to be a trailblazer, perhaps...??

Likely because of the nightmare electrical system. All those fancy German engineered electronic modules barely play nice with each other in a stock Audi or VW, how the hell can they work with a GM PCM thrown in the mix?

I look at it this way, if it could be done in a reasonably practical and economical manner, you would see a bunch of them running. That ain 't happnin'....

That was my thought. Plus those cars aren't exactly inexpensive even used and parts are pricey as well.

With the engine hanging so far forward, you are far from ideal to begin with. A5 (and A4 at the time) and newer are better than ever, but they rely pretty much on stability control to get that awesome rear wheel biased 4WD action. Not to mention that glorious rear axle with torque distribution.

But with FWD delete and engine further back... Just go with a Beemer or Jaguar from start

I think the real question should be, why the hell has no one changed the title of this thread to "Why no Audi swaps" instead if "audio" swaps...
