Help identify rear end
A
any help identifying what rear end this is. I think it might be a 4th gen rear emd. Has drum brakes. Some one put some custom leaf spring brackets on it and installed it in the 56 bel air I have. It works fine I just want to add a locker and change the gears and maybe switch to disk brakes. Looks like it mounted above the pumpkin originally Any help is appreciated

S10 rear swaps are popular in tr-fives, but I see the upper arm mounts. Looks like a 7.5”?

If that is a 7.5, don't waste too much time "beefing" it up. It'll still be very weak. Get something bigger.

looks a lot like a chrysler 8.25 to me.

they came in the cherokees and were pretty narrow and held decent. I had a cherokee a couple years ago and picked one of those up for it and that diff cover looked real familiar to me.
