Default ls accessories info

hello all. I'm looking for some help.

I will be swapping a LS 6.0 from a truck into 1994 bmw 318 e36 car

I believe all the 1998-2002 f body stuff fits, do I have to buy all the brackets and accessories or is there an option to reuse any of the truck stuff to save some money ?
I have a LS1 intake manifold for this project all ready, so i can see the truck water pump wont work for sure.

You can use either the GTO or the 4th-Gen F-Body accessory packages. Everything on the F-Body accessories fit. Everything except the AC compressor from the GTO fit. Either can use the Holley hot rod bracket for the SD7 compressor.

As far as I know, none of the truck accessory brackets, water pump, or crank pulley work with the F-Body depth accessories. You might be able to reuse the alternator, but would not know.

All stuff from all LS engines “fit” but doesn’t mean they work together. Unless you also plan on changing the crank pulley to the F-body, use the 5th gen camaro water pump, its the same offset as the truck accessories. It also puts the output on the same side of the engine as the radiator input so you won’t need a long *** crossover tube.

Check out the Holley mid mount accessory kit. Best out there imo.

I just did this with an LS6 intake, same deal. There are several good LS6 swap threads here. Or this one on performance trucks. My finished product, I built brackets to install an R4 compressor so I could keep my entire system including hoses.

Yes. In E46 but basically the same thing. I even used the “stock” BMW cooling system.

Which part do you need pictures of? I can take some pics of whatever you need a better - um - picture of. It was a fairly straightforward process, I used CX headers and engine mounts.

Well, thanks for pointing out the old design of the non-swap motor mounts. Yep, if you don't loosen the mount and let the transmission droop, they would break. Design was changed years ago. And none of those are LS swap parts.

That wasn’t the problem. Good to know you guys still don’t have any idea what you’re doing.

They would use a bolt through the whole mount from chassis to engine with no isolation. Every time the car would hit a good bump or when ever the car was shifted hard, the mount would compress and cause slack and then they’d slam back together like a massive slide hammer which would eventually cause the bolt to snap. I’ve never seen anything so utterly stupid in my life.

They thought because the studs on the OEM mounts were directly across from each other that this meant they were physically part of each other. They didn’t grasp that they were isolated by the rubber of the mount. They clearly still don’t get it. Took years of complaints before they finally listened to people who actually knew what they were doing.
