Default resting TPS on car with separate TAC

I've got 2005 with DBW gas pedal assembly. And it's reading 7% to 10% when the pedal is totally up. I unplugged the pedal assembly, turned on the car, freaked it out, then plugged it back in and had to reset the trouble codes to get it to be recognized again. But, once it was happy, it was still at 7%. Do I have unplug the TAC module from the ECM to get it to do an auto reset, or do I need to do something else?

Drive by wire engines use throttle position to regulate idle. Unlike drive by cable, seeing a reading above zero is normal at idle.

Oh - thanks, that's interesting. I've been tuning a DBC rig and am used to that. So, the TPS reading in HPTuners is showing me the throttle blade position. Can I read the actual pedal position?

I don't have a Gen III drive by wire vehicle to play with at the moment but I don't believe so. I can't remember but I believe everything in HP Tuners (what is in the OBD2 data stream) shows some variant of throttle. I think the only options were SAE and without SAE but they were all throttle and not pedal based.
