Default How much wire loom for standalone harness??

I'm working on gettingy LS2 harness down to where I need it and will be using a split braided loom.

Can anyone share how much loom they used of each size for a standard LS harness?

Some places sell by the foot, some come in 40' or 100' rolls.

Thanks!

I would measure your harness instead of going off what others may have done. Each harness modified by a different person for a different vehicle will be different due to PCM placement and general routing.

True, this is probably the best way to go. I'll measure up some of the body wiring under the hood too so that can look pretty as well 😉

Thanks

Unfortunately, yes. I've ran into Murphy's law more than once on builds!

its best to get assorted diameters also. 1/4, 3/8, 1/2 3/4 1'' etc.

I agree with Jeff. I ordered an assortment of Techflex F6 for my harness build. Having different sizes on hand was really helpful. The sizes are sort of nominal and it's hard to know ahead of time what size is going to have the best fit for what area. Likewise I got an assortment of heat shrink so I had what I needed on hand. It's anyone's guess on how much and of what sizes you'll need depending on where you decide to route your harness.

Also consider getting some non-adhesive harness wrap. Keeping wires securely bundled will keep them from rubbing and keep splices within the harness from getting undue stress. Don't use electrical tape for this job or you'll have a sticky mess to unravel down the road.

Yeah that was gonna be my next question- what sizes to get haha. Sucks because I can't find an "assortment pack" or anything, so it will just be X' in this size, X' in this size, juat by eueballiey it.

oh yeah, Ive got a couple rolls of Tesa tape here- NO GOO!

I've been considering the heatshrink over the ends, but you have to take apart every connector right? Just seems like a PITA, and I haven't seen enough conparisoco to say if it looks that much better.
