Just make sure you get EVERYTHING associated with the engine and tranny from the donor truck. It will make things much easier!

I;m doing a 1994 SWB right now I used a PSI harness and ICT front billet accessory drive with a LS1 pan, it fit like it was from the factory. I used a LS1 intake and LOKAR cables, had a few issues with the cruise control but got that resolved re fitting the factory control attachment. I used the one inch set back motor mounts and the tranny and linkage fit nearly perfect. Good luck

i havent done this swap yet, but intend to soon. the research ive come up with says to use the
5.3 truck oil pan for a 4wd truck, 5.3 truck upper hose, 95 truck lower hose, 95 truck power steering hoses, 95 truck fan shroud with 5.3 fan, 5.3 truck manifolds, either the 5.3 truck throttle cable, or 96-98 truck cable, 96-98 truck fuel pump, 1'' set back motor mounts.3 wire coolant temp sensor napa # ts5721 and corresponding connector #ec2024. if im wrong please correct me because my brother and i plan on doing this swap on his truck this spring.

there's tons of info out there on this swap, it is very common, do a search. jeff hit most of it, you will also need to figure out how you want to do the harness, either mod your factory 95 harness or go standalone.

yes you leave the body harness. you can either make the engine standalone with its own little fuse box, or tie it into the original 95 truck fuse box. you do need the computer and harness from the 5.3.
