Ignition coils

im getting ready to order the coils for my swap and was wondering if there was a difference in the harness connections or are they universal? For instance can I use an ls1 coil harness with ls3 round coils or truck coils or do I need to use ls1 coils with the ls1 short harness?

Coil harnesses are not universal, get the ones for your coils.

Does it matter which coils I use? I’m swapping an ls1 into my cat and it didn’t come with any coils or harnesses. Do I need brackets or do the coils bolt to the valve covers? I’m new to the ls

Also depends on the coil covers you want or need to use. LS1 coils fit under C5 Corvette coil covers. Later truck coils need the LS2 or LS3 coil covers.

The spark plug wires and coil brackets (or lack of ) brackets depends on coils also.

Just grab the coils,brackets,rocker covers and harness off of a junkyard engine. One stop shopping and you will know it all fits, there is really no need to **** away money on new coils.
