Lh6 to ly2

I recently took a truck in on trade. It's a 2007 Sierra 1500 4x4 (nnbs). It currently has a blown up lh6. My local salvage yard has a ly2 4.8 out of a 07 nnbs truck for a very nice price. It's 3 times less than any lh6 in the area. I want to get this truck back on the road for as cheap as possible. I don't care if the 4.8 is less powerful. I'm under the impression if I reprogram my 5.3 ecu to run 4.8 parameters, it's a direct bolt in. I know this wouldn't be a popular swap because of performance loss, but maybe one of you guys can point me in the right direction with this. Also, the VIN on the ECU must match this vehicle for emissions testing.

It'll drop right in. You'll have to have your stock ECU reprogrammed and you're good to go. If there are any discrepancies anywhere on the engine, just swap over the LH6 stuff onto the LY2.
