Defender 110 L83/6L80 As the title says I'm back for another swap. My last one was a 5.3 LC9/6L80 into my Jeep JK with a ton of help from Robbie at Motech, this one I'll be trying to do myself. I wasn't really prepared for this but I found a deal on an L83/6L80 with anything else I can get off the truck, 2017 Silverado. I have a week or so before I get it so I guess for now I'm trying to figure out what I could take from the truck that would help save some money.
I'm planning a stand alone harness and a complete rewire of the Defender. So am I understanding correctly that if it comes with the ECM and BCM I can strip down the harness and I shouldn't need a re-program? I would like a new shifter with tap control like Speartech offers, is this something easy to add? I don't really care about cruise but that looks doable as well, I'll see.
I guess a power steering pump and brackets such as Dirty Dingo are pretty obvious, vacuum is another one I'll have to figure out for brakes, I also read about the fuel pump and regulator, going to have to find that again. The fan controller has me looking for more info, just found that one.
Any help or links that I may have missed, read hundreds so far, would be greatly appreciated. Just don't want to miss out on a big ticket item.
