Which MAF to use?
I'm am getting everything together for an ls swap into my 65 Chevy nova 4dr. I will definitely make a build thread, once I get the old engine pulled.
I am trying to be as budget minded as possible and have been looking out for deals on certain parts here and there. I have a lot of the necessary parts so far and am just getting the odds and ends together.
One thing I haven't been able to figure out, is the maf. I'm not really sure which one I need or which one is desirable.
I plan on running a 90 out of the TB and then running straight into a box where I will house the filter and make an opening for cold air.
I haven't gotten a harness yet so I can get it made for whichever maf I will use. Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Here is my setup:
2006 L33 5.3l
TBSS intake with flex fuel injectors and 92mm DBC Throttle body
Ws6 store High lift ASA can
1 3/4 headers
4l80e w/ 3200 converter
Seems to me that you need to pick an MAF that's compatible (either naturally or through tuning) with whatever engine control system you're using.
I'm not sure if the 4l80e ever came behind a 5.3. If I got pcm for say, a 2005 can with a 5.3, would that work?
BTW, you dont have to run a maf, but can if you want.
