Missed a ground ls3 in fbody

Missed a ground ls3 in fbody Starting motor for first time was temperamental and impossible without ‘tricks’.
After searching and feeling, found an unsecured ground in back of motor. Motor too close to firewall for my fingers even w a 1/2” long m10-1.5 bolt. I pulled the wire forward a few inches and can extend it to front of the head or an unused motor mount hole. Would it work just the same?
i only ask because after this exercise it wouldnt surprise me if certain ground wires could only be 2-5.75” long (sarcasm)

There's nothing magical about grounding something back in that "cave". Be certain (check with volt meter) --- 1) the battery is well/properly grounded to the chassis; 2) the engine block is well grounded to the chassis with a large enough connection (starter current has to be considered); 3) that there's continuity between the block and both heads. If that's all done right -- then you can safely connect a ground anywhere on the chassis, block or head(s).
