Coil Pack Low Reference....common between banks? I'll try to not bore you with too many details. I'm running an E40 ECM that has been repined for the SBC firing order. I've repined the injectors at the ECM and the IC Control wires from 4 to 7 and 2 to 3 etc..., but I've run into a potential issue. The "low reference" on each bank is merged together inside each side's coil pack harness and then 1,3,5,7 go to one pin on the ECM and 2,4,6,8 go to another.
On the E40, 1,3,5,7 goes to C2-16 and 2,4,6,8 goes to C2-64.
The question is; is that a common ground location within the ECM? Am I going to run into any problems if I don't split up the low reference wires to be paired with the correct cylinders after the firing order change?
I know on the 411 PCM, the low reference wires don't seem to matter. I just need to make sure it works the same on the E40.
Will codes be generated if the circuit doesn't return to the correct side? I hope this makes sense. Thanks.
