harness ?????

harness ????? I have a 2003 6.0l van motor and 4l80e trans and computer NO HARNESS. I have a harness that a friend of a friend got me, a harness hes saying that its a 2004 truck harness but he hacked it up by cutting live wires and leaving all the plugs it seems to be missing 2 or 3 plugs off of the trans. He said that the van harness was too hard to work with and that's why he got the truck harness. So my BIG ??? is should I be looking for a van harness or truck harness to try and get this fixed. Are they the same? I'm thinking the one he gave me is going to be hard to try to save.

Just get a clean harness. If you're putting it in a van get a van harness and for a truck get a truck harness. If it's going into a hotrod use whatever harness you find. The only real difference is where it plugs into things like the pcm and fuse block since they're in different places on different chassis.

Try to get the LS engine harness that matches your actual LS engine and transmission as closely as possible. Otherwise, you will need to change a lot of connectors such as at the fuel injectors to make it all work. To me, it really does not matter what vehicle all of this goes into because its going to need a lot of adaptation no matter what.
Basically, pick the engine and transmission harness that will require the fewest connector swaps. Although some connector changes may be inevitable.
