Cruise problems with manual.

Cruise problems with manual. Hope I'm in the right place to post this, if not, someone please guide me in the right direction.
1986 IROC running a 5.3 from a tahoe, connected to a trremac six speed. If I program the ecm to 4L60E, the cruise works, but I get that dreaded slow rpm drop coming to a stop. If programmed to manual, cruise will not work at all. I do have the extra switch ran in series to the tcc wire that goes to pin C! pin 33. When set to manual, I move it to C! pin 35 for cpp. No cruise. Am I missing something?

Please check the following.
Conversion LS swap section would probably be the best place to get the answer because that's a swap specific question rather than an internal engine question.

After doing more digging. I think the problem is that the ecm does not know what gear the trans is in, or what gear it is not in. The cruise is locked out, if the trans is in 1 . first gear.. 2 neutral.. 3 reverse.. 4 below 25 mph. The last one is ruled out, so it leaves the other 3. So, how and where does the ecm get this information using a 6 speed?
