Fuel pump cleaning

My car has been laid up for the past 3 months while I put a 'Vette rear end under it. Soon it will be time to fire it up again but I'm worries about the in-tank pump may be gummed up and fry when it gets initial power. Is there any way to clean a pump? Soak it in fresh gas for several days? Shoot brake cleaner into it? inputs anyone?

I store my cars over the winter and have never had a problem starting them later. I wouldn't worry about it if it if I were you.

Mine sat for a year while I was swapping in the LS3. I simply pumped most of the fuel in the tank out (about 6 gallons) - and put in 5 fresh before starting the first time. No problems at all with the fuel pump. And I split the 6 gallons of year old I removed into 3 apiece into our daily drivers added when they were about 1/2 full. Couldn't tell any difference at all.
