Default LS1 Electrical Question

Probably a stupid question, but I'll ask it anyway. This is an all new wiring project. I have an LS1 with Painless engine harness and body harness. The instructions say to run the Ignition Coil wire from the fuse panel through a ballast resistor, then to the coil. OR, bypass the resistor and run it to the "I" terminal of the starter solenoid. My high-torque Summit starter only has two terminals - hot to battery, and "S" to the starter switch. There is not "I" terminal on the solenoid.
What I did was connect the Ignition Coil wire to the solenoid hot terminal. We all know there is no one coil on the LS engines. So where is the correct connection?
A secondary question someone may know: The harness also has a Choke wire from the fuse panel. Is this used on LS engines? I thought LS does not have a choke. Any help is appreciated.

You would run the ignition coil wire to the ignition relay in the engine harness. That is what powers the coils. No need for the choke wire on a fuel injected engine.

Thanks for the info ls1nova. But, the only relay I see in the engine harness is the fuel relay. The ECU has its own small fuse panel. But I can't see any exterior/remote relay for ignition. Any details are really appreciated.

You should be ok the way you wired it to the starter, ls starters don"t have the "I" terminal either

Thanks again. Here's what I found out. Both engine and body harnesses are Painless products. The ignition relay is part of a three relay package attached to the ECU fuse panel. The ignition relay routes a Pink wire to the regular fuse panel. With the key in the ON position, this connection activates the all the relay hot circuits in the engine harness. Which is exactly what you tried to tell me. Thanks again!
