Where does VSS get its power from? P0502

Where does VSS get its power from? P0502 So I swapped a 5.3, 4l60e and np246 into my mitsubishi montero. I did all of the wiring for standalone. I just got to drive it and it wont shift out of 2nd i dont even think it goes to 1st. I got a p0502 which is a VSS low voltage. My question is where does the vss get its voltage from? Is it from the pcm or from the trans harness? And what color are the vss wires? i may have hooked it up wrong because there are like 6 plugs that go back there and theyre all the same. Thanks guys!
