Default 1969 Suburban

Swapping a fresh ls1 into 69 suburban. Fits like a glove. Using ls3 manifolds (they sure are pretty identical to the hooker blackhearts) they will get a black coat. The engine paint (ral 7042) will also go on the outside of the car (roof and pillars)

Slow progress. I made the original pedal work using a truck cable a few leftovers from a lokar set and a hose clamp. I filed a deeper slot in the lokar end to allow swiveling. A small slot to loop the cable back so a hose clamp retains the looped back cable. Works like a charm

Radiator made to fit. Power steering hoses fit after modifying. I like to use oem stuff if I can.

Cool build! I always liked the older Suburbans.

The Hooker manifolds are actually quite different, but they do use the same outlet flange. Your manifolds kick out quite a bit at the exit and the outlet points down. The Holley manifolds tuck tightly to the block and the outlet points back and down at about a 45 degree angle. They also don't have the bosses for the head shields.

I know about the shields...but these fit fine. And i had them lying around. Parts are super exoensive to ship to NL. Gotta work with whats best whilst kerping an eye on the bank book.

Fair enough...I just don't want people to think that the Hooker manifolds are the same as the LS3 Camaro manifolds, because they are not. It's great that they worked for you, but they would never fit in my Cougar.
