Default Connect and cruise question

I am building a 66 Nova with a connect and cruise setup and have a question about the PT relay. What is the logic that energizes the PT relay? I am getting rid of the fuse box that comes with the C&C setup and mounting small fuse blocks and relays under my center console. There is just nowhere to mount the huge fuse box without it looking butt-ugly. As I was cutting and re-pinning all my wires, the question came to me that I did not understand why all the circuits fed by the PT relay were not just fed by the ign on relay. I am sure there is a good reason, and I used one, but I am just curious as to the logic of it's operation.

What exactly is the PT relay? If you don't have room for the GM box, I highly recommend using a Bussmann panel with an integral power bus and a relay activation bus.

I have no idea what the PT relay is, that is part of why I am asking this question, to understand what it is and what the logic is for it's operation. Some of the circuits are fed from ignition on relay and some are fed from the PT relay. My question is why it is not all fed from the ignition on relay. I have mounted three small bussman buss fed fuse blocks inside the console. 1 battery hot all the time with 6 circuits, one ignition on with 4 circuits and 1 Pt relay fed with 6 circuits. I have other things feeding from these block including my Dakota digital dash module, and the Dakota transmission position module. I have moved my fan relay and the fuel pump relay to locations closed to the fans and the fuel pump. It is starting to get real crowded under the dash of the Nova. I wanted to move the ECM out of the engine compartment as well, but there just ain't enough room in the tiny little car. I ended up mounting the ECM on the firewall about where the heater fan motor used to reside. This the only car I have that has the ECM in the engine compartment, and I would rather not have mounted it there, but space was at a premium. I really like the clutter-free engine compartment with little wiring and plumbing showing, but I just ran out of real estate elsewhere on the car.

Where is the PT relay mentioned, or how did you hear of it? It seems nobody knows about it....

It is mounted in the current Connect and Cruise fuse/relay box and is identified in the panel as PT relay. The GM documentation says absolutely nothing about it. The PT relay feeds two pink with black stripe feeds and each are fused at 25 amps. It also feeds the injector circuit and the ignition circuit. I am sure that it will work fine, as I am wired exactly the same as GM did it with their fuse box. I am just curious at to how the logic of it works.
